LA Girl Pro Conceal HD High Definition Concealer
There are tons of different concealers out
there. Thick, creamy, light, sheer, long
lasting, all over, or spot concealing, you name it, there is a brand that sells
it. With that being said, it makes nearly
impossible for somebody to decide which conceal they really need.
My Pros
-The LA Girl concealers come in +12 shades
(great for makeup artist)
-Only $2.99 each- extremely affordable
- They provide medium to buildable coverage
- Creamy
- Long lasting (once powder is applied to
set, it doe not move!)
-Can be used to brighten up the under eye
area with very little to no creasing
- plastic tubing
-Can be used to spot conceal
- Little goes a long way
-Photographs beautifully on the skin (no white/ ghostly cast)
My Cons
-Not a fan of the applicator (would prefer
a pump)
-Not the product itself but I wish I could
find it in Toronto somewhere as appose to ordering it online (although ikatehouse.com
has very fast shipping)
Other Comments
- This isn’t a con for me but for some it
may be an issue. You have to work fast
with this product as it can dry up and become difficult to work with. If I am highlighting underneath my eyes, I
will dispense the product on one under eye area, blend the product in, then
procedure to the other eye.
Overall
I have been using this product for over 5
months now and I do not have any complaints.
Very easy to use, cost friendly and does what it is suppose too. I will make sure to keep this concealer
stocked up in makeup kit and at home for my personal use. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this stuff!
This product can be found at many local
beauty supply stores or www.lagirlusa.com
or www.ikatehouse.com

IMATS New York Haul
Of course IMATS New York is a great place to meet and mingle with amazing artist, youtubers, and fellow makeup enthusiast but there is no denying that the shopping is unreal
Take a look at the wonderful products I was able to get my hands on.
Lashes + Mascara wands+ Z-Palette
To be very honest, I do not remember the name of the booth that I purchased these products from. Kind of bumped into this booth and decided to pick up some goodies. The lashes were 3 for $5, the mascara wands were $3 a pack and the large Z-Palette was $20.
Liberty Republic
Purchased the Liberty Republic- Fake it lashes by Jordan Liberty. These lashes really caught my eye and had an even better price point! These babies were only 3 for $16

Yazi Cosmetics
Next, I stopped by the Yazi Cosmetics booth where I purchased these two glitters as well as a lipstick (not shown in photo). The owner had really funky colors and was also from my home town!!! So I had to show her some love. I purchased the glitters and lipstick, in the shade purple kisses, for a total of $15.
Visit the Yazi Cosmetics website to see the other amazing shades that are available.

NYX
Next up are the NYX- Soft Matte Lip Creams. I am so happy that I waited to buy these because online they go for $6 each and in store they are about $12 + tax each. IMATS had them for the unbeatable price of $4 each.
So far I am loving the shades Antwerp and Addis Ababa (as they are the only two colors I have tried).

Makeup For Ever
I knew that I could't leave IMATS without buying these two foundations. I picked them up in the lightest (N107) and darkest (N185) shades as I will be using them in my freelance kit. Makeup For Ever had a 20% discount, which isn't bad when dealing with foundations that are almost $50 a pop. Each foundation was $36.00 + tax at the show. I also decided to pick up a mist and fix for $12.00.
On the Sephora website, The 4.22oz Mist and fix retails for $34.00 + tax and the HD Foundations retail for $49.00 + tax.

Alcone
Got the chance to visit the Alcone booth where I pick up a Skindinavia Bridal Makeup Setting Spray. I have heard so many good things about these sprays especially the Bridal one. I picked this 4oz bottle for $22.
Website: Alcone
Sigma
Got the Sigmax Kabuki Kit which included 5 amazing face brushes. I believe this kit was between $60- $65 + tax, which is much better than the $84.00 + tax price tag from the website.
Also got a hand full of samples which were included in the Sigma bag. No other booth (that I visited) included samples so this was a really nice treat.

Royal Langnickle
Stopped by the Royal Langnickle booth and picked up a few eye brushes and a stippling brush. These brushes ranged from $3-$10. I am excited to put them in my kit and use them on my clients.

Nigels Beauty Emporium
Lastly, I visited the Nigel Beauty Emporium booth where I picked up some professional brush cleaner ($28), a Ben Nye Translucent powder ($4-$9) and 99% Alcohol ($4) for my brushes. They had a great deal on lashes but I felt like, at that point, I had too many lashes so I passed on them.
That is all folks. I hope you enjoyed my haul!
IMATS New York was truly an amazing experience and I can not wait for IMATS Toronto!

IMATS NEW YORK- THE EXPERIENCE!
Almost a week later and I still have no words to describe my experience at IMATS New York!
I guess it's best that I start from the beginning. At 6:30am, I was up and ready to start my day. keeping in mind that I wasn't from New York and was unfamiliar with the parking situation, I wanted to be at Pier 94 (where the IMATS was held) by 8:30am.
After a 20 minute ride to the venue, I was pleasantly
surprised to see about 100-150 people ahead of me in line. This was good because I knew I would be able
to enter the venue as soon as the doors opened at 10 am.
I can honestly say after registration and being given the IMATS
wristband it was all a blur. Everything
was happening so fast. I knew that the
two booths I was interested in visiting first was Lime Crime and Sigma. As you enter the venue, Lime crime was basically directly in front of
me. I attempted to get in line there but
when I was told by security that they would have to start a new line which was
so long that it extended outside, I decided to pass. Some people waited for over an hour just to
see the products! I knew what I wanted but wasting time standing in that line
was defiantly not it.
From there I went to the Sigma booth. That line wasn't too bad when I got
there. Not even five minutes later, I
looked back and the line was beginning to wrap around the building. It was truly insane. I was a little sad because all of the eye
shadow brushes that I wanted were sold out but I was able to get my hands on
some amazing face brushes (which I will show in my IMATS Haul blog). For such a long line, it moved extremely quickly. The ladies there were super efficient; you
got your product, paid, and were done in less than 15 minutes.
From that point on, I
went to a variety of different vendors.
I stopped at Alcone, Makeup For
Ever, Royal Langnickle, NYX, Graftobian,
OCC, and Nigels Beauty Emporium just to name a few. I also stopped at a few other booths that I didn't
get their names. It was just so much
fun looking at and trying so many amazing products all around me.
Once I had done my damage, I decided that I couldn't come to
IMATS and not take pictures with my favorite youtubers and makeup artists from
Instagram. Every person that I was able
to meet was so kind and welcoming. They
took the time to talk and take pictures with me and their many other
subscribers. I cannot express enough how great it felt to meet the very people
I watch and use as inspiration.
Here are some pictures of the amazing people I meet (I
apologize as some are a bit blurry):
Amazing makeup artist. If you don't know him, well you really should! His instagram is @kilprity. His work is unreal and I promise you will not be disappointed in what you see. I would LOVE to site down to pick his brain and maybe even work with him someday!
Alba
Pictures with the beautiful Alba. She has wonderful youtube videos and she is also on instagram. Check her out at: Instagram- @SunKissAlba and on Youtube- SunKissAlba. Anything makeup and natural hair related, you can find on her page.
Kelsey and Kendra
These two beauties were absolutely gorgeous and not to mention they were so sweet. I caught them as they were entering IMATS and they seemed to be trying to get things in order but when I asked to take a picture with them they did not mind at all. I was happy to meet them because I watch their videos all the time so it was great to finally chat with them for a little bit. Check out their youtube page: glamtwinz334 and their instagram:@glamtwinkels1 and @glamtwinken2.All in all, IMATS New York was a success. It was something I will never forget and cherish forever. Thank you New York! You were really good to me.
